Why!

So, ever had one of THESE mornings? Left the house, stuck in traffic - which isn't a stretch or anything new - car starts to overheat, have to pull over on the side of the road to put coolant in the lemon that I currently own... damn near slammed my fingers in the hood and proceeded to show up to work 15 minutes late.

I hate cars. I hate being late. Not a good thing... On the upside, going to my friends baby doctor appointment so I can hear the heart beat and see the little girl roll around inside her belly... aww, babies - the one redeeming quality for today.

Friday

Thank GOD it's Friday!!! Very excited for a fun filled weekend... though it will be a busy one! Have to go baby shower gift shopping (oh joy) tonight, then off to the bar with friends. Tomorrow I'm having a girls only "game" night - which makes me the largest geek on the face of the earth, but I don't care! Us gals are going to sit around and we're going to eat, drink and generally be marry - by playing Scene It, Pictionary, Cranium and whatever other fine game shows up. (Sorry to ruin all your guys "sit around in our underwear having a pillow fight" fantasies... no wait, I'm sorry that really IS what we do - no need to truly ruin it.). Sunday is the aforementioned baby shower - for a very close friend of mine, so I'm actually looking forward to it. I was even invited to go to her next appointment to hear the heartbeat, should be VERY exciting...

Anyway, that's it for now - y'all have a fan-freaking-tastic weekend!

Huh...

well huh, talk about a boring boring life I lead with nothing to talk about... But I never did do my "New Years Eve" re-cap.. so...

Let's see, I had a friend in town from a tiny place in Idaho for a month - he was doing some work in town, so I entertained him once a week or so while he was in town.. and when I say "entertained" it's not what you're thinking... we dated years ago for a long time, and we're now just good friends (much to his dismay). But I draw the line at dating men who are already involved with someone, so he was forced to spend his nights on my couch (which is VERY comfy, by the way, so it wasn't like he was tortured). From what I see in the world these days I'm actually the odd one out there who won't ruin someone else's relationship by helping them cheat, though I know in this situation with him, they've sufficiently ruined the relationship WITHOUT my help. But if you want me, you better dump the other braud first... that's just my view, what can ya do... So anyway...

He, and two girlfriends and I went out to the local PUB for New Year's, it was particularly hard this year, as last year I was in Las Vegas with some friends of mine - one of which was murdered shortly after we returned home from that trip. So midnight brought some moments that were both happy and sad. I don't like to talk too much about the murder - sufficite it to say he's behind bars for a very long time, and she's up in heaven with my granny...

So we were at the PUB having a few beers, and we all kissed and hugged at midnight, watched a great one man band and went home to chat and drink more beers... needless to say the next day wasn't pretty in my world. LOL - but it was a good time had by all, and that's what counts. I had one girlfriend who tried desperately to get us all to go out and go dancing with her - well, as I mentioned above, I had a friend in town from BFE Idaho - hardly did he want to go to a dance club! But anyway... that was the extent of my New Year's... blissfully uneventful.

I got a little tweaked last weekend when a very good guy friend of mine (yep, used to date him too, not sure HOW I seem to stay friends with these guys when I probably should have kicked most of them to the curb years ago... but I digress) introduced me to a girl he's "dating"... I put dating in quotation marks because he's really just sleeping with her, and not really "dating" her... He has told me this girl is in love with him (which was painfully obvious while we were out), and he has only luke warm feelings for her but "she's good in bed". NICE. Idiot... anyway, I didn't like seeing her there - I'm still not sure if it was jealousy because I still have feelings for him??? Or was it because I didn't want some floozy taking away my friend??? Or because I knew that he was going to end up hurting her - and I didn't want to be party to it. It was also VERY disturbing to me that he flirted more with me than her (and our friends brought it up to me later - which just confirmed the flirting), and he actually barely spoke to her the whole time we were out. I swear sometimes I think he flirts with me because he thinks it's the only way I'll stick around... Anyway it was distressing and I'm supposed to meet up and talk to him tonight about it... whatever. I hate to throw in the "men suck" phrase, because not all of them do - but some of them really REALLY do... (same goes for us women, we're not all saints that's for sure!)...

That's really it, a little slow at the office again... let's keep our fingers crossed still that everything picks up and I don't have to go look for work.

WORK IS FOR SUCKERS!

It's only $1.00 for a lottery ticket, why don't I buy them more often???

Not so slow anymore, busy busy busy - work is for suckers, and I haven't even had time to write in my fabulous little on-line diary type doo hickey...

Lotto HERE I COME! :o)
